It is a sacred prayer offered before both the visible and unseen realms. Traditionally, the oldest man or recognized family elder presents the kola nut before the gathering, lifting it with both hands in reverence before offering prayers of thanksgiving, protection, prosperity, wisdom, and long life to Chineke (God Almighty) while invoking the blessings of the ancestors ( Ndị Ichie ).
